most of my life I had a hard time figuring out how to human. isolated a lot as a kid, trauma, neurodivergence… I was a mess. things started to turn around when I was 35 and started to like myself. at 41 I felt true happiness in my core for the first time in my life and now, at 53 I’m living the life I always wanted.
I had read a bunch of self-help stuff, had agreed with it and started on the path but each time, I would get triggered by something and return to my old way of thinking. it wasn’t until I started using little “re-minders” that things started to "stick" more. by repeating to myself regularly WHO I WANTED TO BE, it helped me stop reacting with a trauma response and I literally reprogrammed my mind to find my way to being my authentic self.
i’ve taken a lot of those little tricks I’ve learned in the last couple decades on this journey, finding my way while navigating lifelong chronic illness, and a bunch of other difficult things, while raising little people and piloting a faulty meatsuit. these little re~minders helped me find my way to going beyond coping, into thriving and loving my life. so I turned them into an encouraging art project that can "stick" around and re~mind you who you want to be.
